About Joynt

How together became the plan.

Joynt began with an idea: what if sharing property could feel safe and easy? So we started building the tools we wished existed.

Joynt is a platform for friends and family who want to buy and own a home together. It’s for first homes, shared vacation homes, or a new chapter with people you trust. It's about coming together to create something meaningful while Joynt makes it manageable.

Because sometimes the best way forward… is together.

Meet the people behind Joynt.

We’re a small team who’ve spent years building companies together and doing life alongside people we trust. Through our own experiences, one thing became clear: more people wanted to own things together, but there hasn’t been an easy way to do it well. So we decided to step in.

Group 62

Brett Humphrey

Co-founder and CEO

I started Joynt to make it safer and easier for friends and families to own property together.

If you could co-own anything
A ski cabin shared with friends and family, a place built around shared experiences and time together.

”More than 20 years ago, I was part of a group of friends who collectively shared access to everything fun, a vacation home, a plane, a boat, jet skis. But there was no real ownership, no transparency, and no structure. You paid each month without knowing what you were actually entitled to or whether the thing you wanted to use would even be available. That experience stuck with me and shaped how I think about sharing big assets.

Later in life, I realized just how broken affordability had become. I had to sell my business to afford my first home at 41, an option most people simply don’t have. Joynt was created to give people a safer, clearer path to ownership, rooted in the belief that shared ownership works best when everyone is aligned and has the right guardrails in place. When structure and support are there, shared ownership can build both wealth and meaningful shared experiences, without putting relationships at risk.”

Jessica Colton

Co-founder and CCO

I lead brand and experience design at Joynt, helping shape the product and how people experience shared ownership from the very first interaction.

If you could co-own anything
A cozy creative retreat in the mountain town of Idyllwild with my closest friends — a place to decompress, create, and gather.

”Growing up in Southern California, housing always felt expensive and out of reach, and that reality only became more intense as I began navigating homeownership on my own. It wasn’t until I combined finances with my husband that we were able to purchase a modest home, and later, we partnered with family to buy a home for his mom, bringing his sisters in as partial investors. Those experiences showed me both the power and complexity of shared ownership.

I was drawn to Joynt because it addresses a real affordability challenge while protecting relationships and I've seen firsthand how unclear expectations can strain even close friendships. That's why I am passionate about building tools that bring clarity, balance, and shared responsibility into co-buying. For me, Joynt is less about fractional ownership and more about community, helping people share meaningful spaces and experiences with the people they trust most.”

Charlie Topete

Co-founder, Engineering

I build and maintain the software that powers Joynt, making sure it’s reliable, thoughtful, and easy to use for real people.

If you could co-own anything:
A house, cabin, or boat shared with friends I trust and enjoy spending time with.

”Growing up, our home was often shared with extended family for long stretches of time. That experience showed me how shared spaces can be both enriching and harmonious when there’s mutual respect and clear expectations, something that has stayed with me ever since.

I was drawn to Joynt for two reasons: helping my adult children navigate today’s difficult housing market with friends, and creating opportunities to co-own meaningful places with people I love and respect. I believe shared ownership works best when people choose the right partners and set clear guidelines from the beginning, and my goal at Joynt is to help make that clarity possible through thoughtful, dependable technology.”

Jenny Giblin

Co-founder and CPO

I spend time learning from real co-buyers, what works, what causes tension, and use those insights to design tools that make shared ownership simpler and fairer.

If you could co-own anything:
An event and retreat space in Portugal with close friends, a dream that started years ago and continues to evolve.

”My connection to shared ownership is deeply personal. After moving from Ireland to the U.S., I tried to navigate buying a home, and even considered owning with a friend, but quickly found the process confusing and inaccessible. That experience stayed with me and ultimately became part of what drew me to Joynt. I’m motivated by the belief that the next generation, including my niece, should grow up knowing shared ownership is a real and achievable option.

I’ve bought multiple homes and approach ownership with both heart and pragmatism. While housing can be emotional, the numbers and structure still have to make sense for where you are in life. One of my earliest lessons came at 26, when I bought my first home, and lost my job the very day I picked up the keys. Instead of panicking, I adapted, rented out rooms, and held onto the property, a mindset I still carry today. For me, shared ownership works best when communication is honest, expectations are clear, and money isn’t treated as a taboo topic, before, during, and long after the purchase.”

Eric Roodenburg

UX Director

I help turn Joynt’s ideas into a product that makes sense to real people, something that feels obvious and useful instead of frustrating.

If you could co-own anything:
A pontoon boat or a fun desert toy with my best friend, something no one really needs, but everyone wants, and would actually use together.

”I joined Joynt because I believe deeply in the people behind it. Long before Joynt existed, they pushed me to be better at what I do, so when I heard they were building something to solve real problems around co-ownership, and I’d get to work with them again, it was an easy yes.

What excites me most about shared ownership is possibility. Owning a fun second place on my own wouldn’t be realistic, but doing it with a couple of close friends suddenly feels attainable, and gives us a built-in reason to spend more time together. For me, shared ownership works best when you have the right people, clear expectations, and a system that has your back.”

Kristina Modares

Head of Marketing

I help shape how Joynt shows up in the world, drawing on my own co-buying experience to make sure shared ownership works for real people.

If you could co-own anything:
A compound with my closest friends and our kids in Italy or Mexico.

“I’ve never bought a home alone, every property I’ve owned has been shared with friends, family, or a partner. That path started out of necessity when I couldn’t afford to buy on my own in my early 20’s, and a friend casually said, “Why don’t I buy with you?” That one conversation changed everything.

Co-ownership showed me that you don’t have to postpone your dreams. By collaborating with the right people, I was able to move faster, strengthen my relationships, and grow my net worth in ways I never could have on my own.

My favorite co-ownership experience to date, though, has nothing to do with money. My sister and I bought a house in Florida simply to create a place that felt like home for both of us, and together, that’s exactly what we did."
